Mind the Fire

The ease, it’s amazing.

To wish for more. To hope for more.

Never happy with what you have.

Never cherishing what you have.

Eventually forgetting what you have.

Then you have a want for something different.

What used to be a blaze had become an ember.

Remembering could revive the past.

Simply needed is a reason to stoke it again.

Wanting it to rise again and fill the hole that was left after the desire burned away.

Suddenly some fuel,

Some oxygen. Some kindle.

Something waving above the glow creating needed circulation.

Pushing the air in just the right direction.

Hopefully receiving just enough attention.

Just enough to create a flicker that can become a flame again.

A little unexpected push may be all it takes.

Sometimes you only get a nudge.

Wanting to be better. Wanting the encouragement.

Wanting it to grow and become powerful again.

Build it up. Fill the void that feels like a cave in your chest.

Hope that the inspiration will never leave you.

Hope that the burn from the emptiness is replaced. Traded for a fire reborn inside.

Pray that the stirring that has returned will continue to live.

Try not to overwhelm the source and mind the fire.

Try to make it an inferno.

Get excited about what you have. But, not too much!

Something frightened will disappear like light and heat from a smothered candle.

As quickly as it is discovered it can also be lost.

Lost for any reason without explanation.

The ease, it’s amazing.

To wish for more. To hope for more.

Be happy with what you have.

Cherish what you have.

Never forget what you have.

Never forget what brought that fire back to life again.

  1. This was the first time that I ever wrote anything like this. It's hard to explain the reasons...it just happened. It revolves around my lost creativity. I was a fine arts major in college. Something made all of the desire disappear. Then, I had something "kindle" the desire and it came back to me. Hopefully it will stay...even if it is in a different way than expected.
